Hey -I’m Hillary,
I’m a commercial photographer based in Montana, shooting on working ranches with horses and people. I’ve worked on large campaigns in the western and outdoor space.
I make western and outdoor brands look real -and give them everything they need from one shoot.
I like working with brands that know what they’re doing.
No fake western.
What I do looks simple.
One shoot gives you campaign, product-in-use, and lifestyle. I handle it end-to-end.
I’ve been bucked off, knocked around, and back at it the next day. That’s pretty much how I work.
When I’m not shooting, I’m usually riding my horses or out on the ranch.

MY STORY
Hillary Maybery was six years old when Dusty the pony galloped her straight into the hitching rail at the Will Rogers Polo Club. Dusty was short, stubborn, and mean — she ducked under the bar, letting the metal catch Hillary in the chest, crack her ribs, and knock her flat.
She stood up, walked three hours home, and climbed back on Dusty the next day.
Quiet grit. No drama. Just determination.
That same drive pushed her into big surf in Northern California and eventually carving through the X Games on her own pro-model snowboard (yes — keep an eye on eBay for the Joyride Hillary Maybery board).
After more than a decade as a professional snowboarder, she shifted her focus to photography — a passion that began in high school and grew through rodeos, photo school, and years of shooting the Western world she loves.
Her work celebrates the outdoor life, cowboy culture, and real people who live close to the land. Some moments are spontaneous and full of motion; others are quiet, evocative, and rooted in the spirit of the West.
She now lives on a ranch in Montana with her daughter, Presly, and her international horse-trainer boyfriend. She still enjoys a good sipping tequila, and despite Dusty’s best efforts all those years ago, she still loves to ride.
